It wasn’t until around 2017 when I first heard of third tones, the result of dividing each whole tone of the equal tuning system into three equal parts. The world’s only third tone piano at the HKB Bern served band leader Michael Haudenschild as the ignition to venture into a parallel universe of sound. Meanwhile, this microtonal quartet has played numerous shows and we just released our first album at BeJazz Bern.
